Sophia Shaw

Artist, Boater and Tea Drinker

Sophia is a freelance illustrator based near the city of Chester on the Shropshire Union canal aboard narrowboat 'Roanoke' with partner Andrew and rescue pup, John.

A love of travel, nature and life on the waterways inspires Sophia's work.  From map-making to her unique paintings and commissioned pieces, she loves to bring colour and an element of story-telling to her work.

Lucky enough to have found a mooring for Roanoke in the countryside, she works from a tiny studio-shed built from recycled materials on the canal bank.

Sophia creates an ever-growing range of colourful artist greeting cards, quirky illustrated maps, map tea towels and postcards, all of which are available for trade.

As well as selling from her online shops, she regularly trades at artisan markets around West Cheshire and the NorthWest.
